ACD Book Club
The Adams County Democrats Book Club is an informal gathering for people who enjoy reading and talking about books related to democracy, civic life, history, politics, and social justice.
WE are getting ready to start another club in the fall. Sign up and vote for your top 3 book choices.
How It Works
The book club meets regularly — in person when possible, and online when that works better for members. We choose books together, read on our own schedule, and then gather to discuss.
Anyone is welcome to join, whether or not you are a registered Democrat. The goal is good conversation and a deeper understanding of the world we all share.
What We Read
Upcoming selections include books on: Suggested titles for our next club:
- The history of American democracy Crises of the Common Good by Chris Murphy, US Senator
- Voting rights and civic participation American Amnesia by Jacob Hacker & Paul Pierson
- Rural political identity Raising Our Hands by Jenna Arnold
- Political philosophy and ethics We are Indivisible by Leah Greenberg & Ezra Levin
- Local and state history in Idaho The Righteous Mind by Jonathan Haidt
Vote for 3 when you sign up or suggest another.
