Leadership Opportunities
The Adams County Democratic Party is run by volunteers who step up to guide the organization, coordinate activities, and represent their neighbors. Every two years precinct captains are elected or appointed and they elect the chairperson and other members of the Central Committee. We are currently looking to fill the roles of precinct captain in Precincts 1, 2, 5 & 6. We have open positions for Vice Chair and State Committeewoman.
Leadership Roles
County Chair
The Chair leads the central committee, runs meetings, and serves as the public face of the county party. This role requires regular availability and strong communication skills.
Vice Chair
The Vice Chair supports the Chair and steps in when needed. This is a great entry point for someone interested in eventually leading the organization.
Secretary
The Secretary takes and maintains minutes for all official meetings, manages membership records, and handles official correspondence.
Treasurer
The Treasurer manages party finances, files required campaign finance reports with the state, and keeps the committee informed on the financial picture.
Precinct Captain
Precinct Captains organize outreach in their specific precinct — connecting with neighbors, helping people register to vote, and turning out voters during elections. Precinct Captains are the foundation of the party.
State Committeeman & Committeewoman
These 2 positions offer a flexible support role to take on special assignments as needed and support our efforts using their strengths and interests. Both have a vote on the county and state central committees.
How to Get Started
If you are interested in any of these roles or want to learn more about what they involve, reach out to the county chair. No experience is required — just a commitment to showing up and helping.
